Abstract
In today's world, due to the high volume of crimes and, in some cases, the ineffectiveness of the punishment system, there is a requirement  of a system and organizations that eliminate the basis of committing crimes. Discovering the main grounds for committing various offenses and various motives of the perpetrators, and taking the measures that stopped the potential offender in the stage before the crime and discourages him from practicing his criminal thoughts, is one of the missions of criminology science. Crime prevention is always more effective than punishment. Besides, it helps to save costs and reduce the workload of the courts. This article attempts to study on situational prevention in one of the major crimes that societies are facing today. The crime of gunrunning is an economic crime that has created unrest and turmoil on the international level. Discussions are followed in two chapter. In the first chapter, we examine the role of the community in using tools and preventive measures against this crime, and in the second chapter, it follows the role of the state in this regard.
